Asthma, Allergies, Your Respiratory System & Noni

Asthma, Allergies, Respiratory Problems and Noni

For those who suffer from severe asthma, like me, easy tasks such as walking up the stairs or participating in an outdoor picnic can result in hours of labored breathing. Asthma is a chronic condition that affects more than 17 million Americans, and it is a condition that is growing. Studies show that the number of asthma cases in America has increased by 75% between the years 1980 and 1994. In addition, 90% of the deaths from asthma occur in the elderly, the majority of whom are women. Most asthma deaths are preventable.

In an asthmatic person’s lungs, the airways called bronchioles constrict abnormally when stimulated by things such as allergens, infections, and exercise, which makes it difficult to expel air from the lungs. Research has linked the presence of allergies with asthma, though not all asthmatics have allergies, and not all allergic people have asthma. Some of the main symptoms of the condition are wheezing, breathlessness, inability to exhale properly, a phlegm or mucus-producing cough, and loss of energy. Inflammation of the lungs is present even in the mildest cases of asthma and can lead to other problems such as respiratory infections.

Genetic susceptibility seems to be one of the major culprits behind asthma. However, there are identifiable triggers of the condition. Asthma may be brought on by an allergic response, exercise, bacterial and viral infections, hormones, stress and other triggers. One interesting note is that 30-40% of women experience a fluctuation in their asthma symptoms during their menstrual cycles.

Whatever it is that triggers a person’s asthma, a food supplement such as noni juice may help in reducing the severity of the symptoms by boosting and modulating the immune system and enhancing the cellular structure of the bronchioles. This is believed to be mostly due to the nutraceuticals in bundled packages sent by the Golgi apparatus and reticuloendothelium to the affected “sick” cells.

The survey showed that in addition to asthma, general allergy symptoms (such as running nose, itchy eyes, hives and even eczema) were reduced in those people who drank noni. Other non-asthmatic respiratory illnesses have also responded to noni. Infections of the lungs, bronchitis and pneumonia are all illnesses that affect people who do not have asthma. Pneumonia, for example, can be caused by thirty different causes. The 5 most common are bacteria, viruses, mycoplasms, infectious agents such as fungi and various chemicals. Since noni works on a cellular level, regardless of the causes of pneumonia, noni has the ability to strengthen weakened lung cells and boost the body’s ability to naturally ward off the causative agents.

In a survey of 8,652 people who consumed noni juice for help with their asthmatic symptoms, 67% reported their symptoms lessened. 4,103 people who took noni for other non-asthma related respiratory problems 67% reported improved health. An incredible 83% of the 3,483 noni drinkers with common allergies also reported a decrease in symptoms.

The average consumption by the 67% who reported positive results with asthma symptoms and allergies drank 2.5 ounces per day of noni juice. Respiratory drinkers consumed 3 ounces per day.
